Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the venue capacity?
The outdoor venue accommodates 175 guests including bridal party, the indoor venue hold up to 70 guests.
2. Can I bring in my own caterer?
Yes, all licensed and insured caterers are welcome. We require a copy of their insurance, and all "new to the venue" caterers must do a site visit prior to your wedding.
3. Can I provide my own alcohol?
Yes, however all alcohol must be served by a licensed bartender. Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcohol and the sale of alcohol is prohibited.
4. How do I reserve my date?
To reserve your wedding date, a deposit of 50% or $1000 down with scheduled payments is needed(down payment is non-refundable). Couples must also sign a contract, as well as our rules and regulations, all can be done online. The Stone Mill 1792 does not hold dates.
5. What if it rains?
In a worst case scenario your ceremony would be held under the tent. In most cases we wait a few minutes, dry your chairs and off you go to your beautiful outdoor ceremony.
6. Where do my guests park?
We can park up to 140 guests on site in addition to vendors. If your guest count exceeds 140 we require satellite parking at Mannheim Elementary School (2 miles away). We do not provide your shuttle, please contact us for recommendations.
7. Are Linens included?
Linens are not included, but we can recommend many caterers and planners that can assist you in the linen rental process.
8. Are there any other expenses on top of the venue fee?
Please see our packages, 6% sales tax is not included in the venue rental fee.
9. Do you allow candles?
Yes! Candles are permitted at ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception
10. Do you allow sparklers?
Yes sparklers are allowed outside ONLY, and must be disposed of in a specified sand bucket.
11. Do I Need to get event insurance?
Yes, weddings are required to obtain a $1m event liability insurance policy, and provide a copy to the venue.
12. Do you provide a coordinator?
No, we do not provide a coordinator. However you are required to have a coordinator or planner. We can provide some recommendations if needed.
